Which drivers is TachoClear for?
TachoClear is built for UK goods-vehicle drivers under the assimilated (EU-derived) drivers’ hours rules and the Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations 2005. It also has GB domestic goods and PSV night-work settings. The app identifies unsupported rule combinations explicitly. Read the rules guide for the scope and sources.
Does it replace my tachograph?
No. TachoClear is a planning aid, not the legal record — your tachograph is. It is not legal advice, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by a government body.
Can I use it without a signal?
Shift tracking, saved records and the rules guide work offline. Purchases, purchase verification and restoring Pro use Apple’s services and need a connection.
Where does my driver record go?
Your driver record stays on your iPhone. There is no TachoClear account or driver-record server. App metrics and crash diagnostics are separate from that record, are on by default and can be switched off in Settings. They never include your hours, notes, exports or compliance results. Read the privacy policy for the full details, including advertising measurement and backups.
What happens after my free week?
Live tracking, your saved shifts and the rules guide stay free. For ongoing Planner and Week, you can choose the lifetime Pro unlock. Nothing is bought automatically.
